It’s the end of another busy week and in case you’ve been busy, we’ve gathered up all the week’s biggest news in a quick and painful, easy to digest format.
Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger’s second season was officially titled. The next season is called… Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Season Two. Though bland, there’s a pun going on with “two” being readable as “pain”.
It was officially revealed that Digimon Fusion, the dub of Digimon Xros Wars, will be airing on Nickelodeon sometime this year. This comes as a surprise to people watching the ratings for Saban’s The Vortexx block. Currently floundering, a new Digimon series would have been a sure bet for ratings, and would have provided the block with just its third show actually premiering new content.
Are you following Ultra Zero Fight? Well…not a lot of people are either, so we won’t fault you for missing this. At the end of the microseries’ latest episode, Zero faces an old enemy when Kaiser Belial is revived.
DC announced its most recent line of cancellations for the New 52 line of comics. Six major series will be ending in May and, to keep the number at 52, six new series will see their premiere in June.
Next, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters came to an end after 50 episodes. After all the trials and tribulations the series faced, were you satisfied? If you weren’t, it isn’t quite over just yet! Announced this week was Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters VS Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters, the revival of the “Returns” line of direct to video series follow ups.
But with every end comes a new beginning. Zyuden Sentai Kyouryuger begins in just one week! The newest Sentai series sees Kamen Rider W head writer Riku Sanjo, Kamen Rider Fourze, Ultra Galaxy Legend, Power Rangers director, and overall cool guy, Koichi Sakamoto, directing his first Sentai series, as well as a brand new producer. You can take a sneak peek with the trailer for episode one.
And in site related news, we were able to produce some quality reviews this week. Weekly Comics returns with a review of I Kill Giants issue one. Kamen Rider Faiz episode five was reviewed, and we’re sure there’s the birth of a new meme in there. Joining Faiz is Gingaman episode 5, introducing some new toys for the team. We also took a look at the long awaited Uchuu Keiji Gavan the Movie with a very thorough review. And last but not least, we reviewed the second episode of Power Rangers Megaforce.
We’ll meet you back here next week for another weekly round up, until then, stay saucy.
