Kamen Rider Wizard premiered this weekend as did what some might consider the second half of Tokumei Sentai-Gobusters. As always, stick around after the jump for numbers!Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters mission 28 scored 4.4% in the ratings department. This breaks a six episode streak of extremely low ratings with episodes unable to break 4% at all, the longest any Sentai has ever held such a streak. A large portion of the bump can be attributed to the start of Kamen Rider Wizard and hopefully numbers will continue to rise. Mission 28 saw just over a full percentage point improvement over Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters mission 27. While the numbers are still relatively low, Go-Busters did still get a bump, something that can’t be said for Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger when Kamen Rider Fourze started airing. Where will it go from here? If Wizard’s numbers remain stable, Go-Busters might eventually push its way into 5% on a regular basis, but it’s going to have a near impossible time not ending up as the lowest rated Sentai show ever. I think the best the show can hope for is that from episode 30 on, the ratings improve a percentage point or two.

And as you know by now, Kamen Rider Wizard episode 1 aired! It scored a fabulous 7.1%, an area not seen since way back around the time of Kamen Rider Fourze episode 32. It’s important to note that Wizard now has something that Fourze didn’t, a premiere bump. While OOO and Double each had rather high first episode ratings thanks to following popular shows, Fourze sort of took the brunt of OOO’s second half ratings, which were low, and never got a proper bump. OOO and Double premiered in the 10% range, and while a 7.1% isn’t quite that high, it’s a great place to start a series.
